Getting started with StarPoint Tenant Screening is easy. Go to StarPointTenantScreening.com and click on the sign up button…

Simply let us know if you are a Property Manager or an Individual Landlord and if you would like access added to your account to pull Trans Union Tenant Credit Reports.
If you wish to pull credit reports, we’ll send you an e-mail including any additional forms we need you to complete so we can give you access to Trans Union credit data.
Now fill out the rest of the online form and click submit!
You’ll instantly be given your login information.

By signing up online, you’ll immediately be able to order:
• State and National Criminal Background Reports
• State and National Eviction Reports
• Previous Address Reports (which are FREE with every Eviction Report order!)
• Previous Landlord Verifications
• Employment Verifications
• Identification Verifier

And once we receive a few simple forms from you, you’ll have access to:
• Trans Union Credit Reports

To login, simply go to StarPointTenantScreening.com and click on the login button…

Now enter the location ID you were given at sign up with the user name and password you selected.

On the homepage you’ll see your most recent report orders, your account balance, answers to frequently asked questions and some quick tips. To order reports, simply click on the Order tab at the top of the page.

Click on the all the reports you want to order on your tenant applicant. And remember with StarPoint Tenant Screening, you’ll always get a previous address report for FREE with every Eviction Report order.

Enter all the required applicant information. Your applicant’s social security number is only required for processing Credit Reports and the Previous Address Report.

Please note:

All Criminal and Eviction searches are done using your applicant’s First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and Date of Birth only. Surprisingly the Criminal and Civil court system almost never record social security numbers on court records. They rely on name and date of birth information for their filing.

For State Criminal or State Evictions Reports, please select the state or states you’d like searched. If you’ve selected National searches, all available states will be included automatically.

If you’ve also selected to order an Employment Verification on the applicant, simply scroll down and enter the applicant’s place of work, their stated position and claimed wage amount.
The StarPoint team personally verifies all the information directly with the employer.
Simply click “Next” to continue.

Here you will be able to see your order total and enter your credit card information for processing. You can also select to charge the order to a stored credit card. Simply click “Next” to continue.

The confirmation page will allow you look over the report selections you made before your payment method is charged. Simply click “Edit Information” to make changes to your order or click “Order” to process your order and receive your reports.

All your reports will be returned immediately, except for the Employment Verification and the Previous Landlord Verification which usually takes about 48 hours to complete.
Click on the reports to view them. Let’s take a look at the Criminal Report first.

When you view your report, you can choose to filter the data. You can select whether or not you want to see “Supplement” data on the report

Which includes additional details, when available, regarding an offense and may include:
• Case numbers
• Sentencing dates
• Links to additional sentencing information
• Prosecutor information
• Arrest dates
• You can narrow or broaden the number of years you wish to go back to see records
• And you can select to only see records that contain a Date of Birth on the reported offense

Now let’s take a look at the Eviction report. If records are found that match the applicant’s Name and Date of Birth, you’ll see the:
• Case number,
• Plantiff name
• Defendant name and the Address the tenant was evicted from

To further assist you, we always provide you with a free Previous Address report from Experian with every Eviction search so you can easily compare your applicant’s known previous addresses with the addresses sited on the Eviction Search.

Next we’ll view the Employment verification. On every Employment Verification you order, we personally contact the applicant’s place of work and verify their:
• Start date of employment
• End date of employment or verify if they are currently employed there
• Their stated wage or earnings and their position

This is a valuable tool that can help you ensure the applicant has the salary and position they stated in their tenant application.

Another verification we offer is our previous Landlord Verification. On every Previous Landlord Verification you order, we also personally contact the applicant’s last landlord and verify:
• Lease dates
• Rent amount
• Number of returned checks
• Inquire if there were ever any eviction proceedings
• Inquire if proper notice was given in terminating the lease
• And if they are re-eligible for lease with the landlord

Now let’s look at the Trans Union Tenant Credit Report which is one of the most valuable tools you can use to assess an applicant’s credit worthiness and reliability to pay.

The Trans Union Tenant Credit Report includes:
• The Credit Score
• Payment Patterns/Payment History
• Public Record Search (tax liens, Bankruptcies, judgments)
• Collection Account Search
• SSN Validation
• Residence/ Employment Information (according to what Bureaus have on file)
• Full listing of all open credit lines and account information

For landlord that don’t have a business liscene, which is a requirement for accessing the full TransUnion Credit Report, we have the Trans Union Tenant Credit Report Card.
